The Sea…Oh the city by the Water
High above the earthen cliff small and petite when
Mentally contrasted to the tallest peak
Somberly speaking in colorful murmurs to who else
But the meandering clouds
The city dwelled too long!
For the early prophets studied the stars above and
Below their naked feet, allowing consciousness to
Flow pure as the rivers were unimpeded and pure
As the air coated oxygen that was once free to roam
Into receptive lungs,
This past history, accessible only through the timelessness
Of memories, warned of waste, pointing a bony finger
Towards the truth whispering slippery secrets through the
Portals
Far below the tallest peak but perched above the earthen cliff
tumbled a great torrent future-bound with its origins in the past,
A past which was seen by those in touch with the entire scene,
those who dared to reach beyond what seemed to see.
